Data protection statement

General information

The protection of your privacy and of your personal data is taken very seriously at our company. Therefore, we would like to explain how we handle and protect your personal data when you access our personalised services. To secure the maximum protection of your privacy, we are of course compliant with all legal obligations concerning data protection.

Personal data

Personal data refer to any information relating to your identity. This will include, for instance, information such as name, address, telephone number and e-mail address. In order to use our website, it is not essential for you to disclose any personal data at all. In certain cases, however, we require your name, address and further particulars in order to provide the services you desire.

The same thing applies to the dispatch of information material and goods you have ordered for example, as well as to replies to individual enquiries. We will specifically point this out to you as and when additional data are required. Otherwise, we store and process exclusively data that you provide us with voluntarily or automatically. If we request further data, this is information which is offered on a voluntary basis by you. The processing of personal data occurs solely in order to provide the service requested and to protect our own legitimate business interests.

Specific purpose of personal data processing

The personal data which you disclose to us, are used to answer your queries, to handle your orders or to allow you access to certain information or offers. We will never sell your personal data to third parties or market them in any other way.

Restricted use for specific purposes

We will only collect, process and use the personal data which you have made available online for the aforementioned purposes. Your personal data will not be disclosed to third parties without your express and mandatory consent. The collection of personal data, and their disclosure to government institutions and authorities entitled to obtain such information, will only take place to the extent required by the relevant legal requirements or, insofar as we are obliged to disclose, by a ruling in a court of law. Our employees and the service providers employed by us are bound to confidentiality and to compliance with the stipulations of the German Federal Data Protection Act.

Automatic processing of non-personal data

When our website is accessed, the following data are saved for organisational purposes and to resolve technical issues: the name of the page accessed, the type of browser used, the operating system used, dates and times of day when the site is called up, the search engines used, names of files downloaded and your IP address. We evaluate these technical data anonymously and merely for statistical analysis in order to continue to improve our internet presence and create even more attractive offers online. These anonymous data are stored separately from personal data on secured systems and cannot be traced back or attributed to any individual person. Therefore, your personal data and your privacy are protected at all times.

Children

Persons under the age of 16 should not transfer personal data to us without the consent of their parents or legal guardians. We never request personal data from children and young persons, neither do we collect this information nor pass it on to third parties.

Insofar as you use the external links provided on our web pages, this data privacy statement does not extend to these links. We do our best to ensure that the links provided also meet our data protection and security standards. We do not have any influence, however, on the compliance by other providers with data protection and security provisions. Please refer to the web pages of the other providers, therefore, and familiarise yourself with the data protection statements which are available there.

Use of specific services on our website

In order to provide you with specific online services such as the newsletter, online shop and so on, it is necessary to process personal data. In this case, we process exclusively data relevant to the specific purpose and retain data as required and permitted to meet the applicable legal requirements.

Recruitment management

What personal data do we collect about you?

We collect and process the personal data provided by you during the recruitment process. This may include, amongst other data, identity and contact details, your application documentation (CV information, covering letter, information relating to your previous roles and experience, details of your qualifications and credentials, information regarding the desired role and date of availability). Furthermore, we may also collect any other data supplied by you including all the correspondence between us during the recruitment process.

How long do we keep hold of your personal data?

We will only retain your personal data for a period of 6 months following your application to comply with legal record retention requirements for recruitment data. Providing we have your
permission, however, we can keep your documentation in our talent pool in order to contact you in the future regarding other roles at Wandres which may be of interest. Where the continued
processing of your personal data is no longer necessary in relation to the purpose for which it was originally collected (see above), the data will be erased.

Once you secure a position at Wandres, we will retain your personal data for the entire duration of your work relationship here, in compliance with our Employee Data Protection and Privacy Policy, a copy of which will be made available to you when you accept the position.

Newsletter

We offer you the possibility to subscribe our e-mail newsletter free of charge. We will only send this newsletter after having received your consent. If you register to receive a newsletter, the data that you enter in the entry mask will be forwarded to us and saved as long as the newsletter subscription is active.

In order to process your data and to be able to send the newsletter, your consent must be given and your attention should have been drawn to this privacy notice. To register, we use the so-called double opt-in process. After registration, you will receive an e-mail. To enrol, you need to confirm your registration by clicking onto a link. This procedure avoids unauthorized registrations by third persons using your e-mail address.

We record the registration process so that we can provide proof in accordance with the legal requirements.  During the recording, the IP address of the retrieving end device, the date and the time of the registration will be saved. All your data will remain within the system as long as the newsletter subscription is active.

You may end the subscription at any time. For this purpose, you will find an unsubscribe link in every newsletter you receive. This link will enable you to revoke you consent. The legal basis for the processing of your data is your voluntary consent to receive the newsletter.

If you purchase our goods or services and give us your e-mail address for this purpose, we reserve the right to use it to send newsletters with direct advertising for similar goods or services produced by us. Interests of different parties always need to be balanced carefully. The above preserves our legitimate interest to approach our customers promotionally. You may object to this usage of your data by sending a message to the contact options given below or by clicking onto the unsubscribe link in the promotional e-mail. There will be no costs other than the transmission costs according to the basic rates. As far as the newsletter is sent with the purpose to sell goods or services, we refer to the provisions of the German law against unfair competition (UWG).

Analysis of receipt of newsletters

Our newsletters contain a pixel-sized file (a so-called web beacon or tracking pixels), that will be retrieved from our server or, if we use a service provider, from the respective server of this provider. During the retrieving process, technical information such as information on the browser, on your system, on your IP address and on the retrieving time will be gathered.

This type of information serves to technically improve our newsletter. In addition, we would like to gather information regarding the retrieving time and regarding your reading behaviour based on the place where you retrieve the newsletter. This analysis tells us, whether newsletters have been opened, when they were opened and which links have been clicked. Although this information can be assigned to the individual recipients for technical reasons, we have no intention or interest in observing individual users. Evaluating this information serves to get to know the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them. It also serves to send different contents that reflect the interests of our different groups of users.

Subject to the explicit authorisation of the users, newsletters and their success are evaluated. We have a legitimate interest that our newsletters are safe and easy to handle. Our users expect these features and they reflect our business goals.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to revoke just the success evaluation. If you do not agree with this type of success evaluations, you need to terminate the newsletter subscription, i.e. you need to revoke your consent if you have given it. Upon receipt (which is based on the legitimate interest mentioned above), you have to declare your express opposition with receiving the newsletter.

Legal basis for sending our newsletters is either your voluntary consent or our legitimate interest.

Opt-out option

You may unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time by revoking your consent or expressing your opposition to receiving further editions. You will find a link to resign at the end of each newsletter or you can use one of the other contact possibilities, preferably the e-mail contact.

Due to our legitimate interests, we can save removed e-mail addresses up to three years before we delete them. We can do this to be able to prove that a consent has been given earlier. Processing this data will be limited to a potential defence against claims. If we are forced to continuously observe objections, we reserve the right to compile and save a list of e-mail addresses exclusively as a restriction list.

For the settlement of payments, we disclose your payment details to the relevant banking institution authorised to handle the payment transaction. Insofar as we are advancing the merchandise and in order to safeguard our legitimate interests, we will, where appropriate, obtain a credit assessment from the company Creditreform in D-41460 Neuss. Your legitimate interests will be treated confidentially in accordance with legal requirements.
